Our plus size wedding dresses collection is designed to help you find a gown that feels flattering, supportive, and unmistakably bridal. We carry a wide range of looks for curvy brides, with styles that can suit everything from classic ceremonies to more fashion-forward celebrations.
We always recommend setting your overall wedding dress budget first, then leaving room for alterations and accessories. The best value usually comes from finding a gown with the right structure, fabric, and proportions for your shape, because that often means fewer changes later. Designer, construction, lace detail, beading, and train length can all affect cost, even when two gowns look similar at first glance. If you want guidance on what makes the biggest difference for your budget, we’re happy to talk through your priorities during your appointment.
Yes, most wedding gowns need alterations, and that is especially important when you want the bust, waist, hips, and hem to feel balanced and comfortable together. A gown can be the right size on paper and still need shaping through the bodice, straps, sleeves, or skirt for a truly polished fit. We offer on-site expert bridal gown alterations, which helps us refine the dress to your body and the way you want it to feel on your wedding day. We usually suggest shopping with enough time for ordering and fittings so you’re not rushed.
The most flattering style is the one that gives you support in the right places and lets your shape look intentional rather than hidden. A-line gowns are a favorite for many brides because they define the waist and skim over the hips, while structured fit-and-flare styles can be beautiful if you want more shape and the gown has strong internal support. Necklines matter too: V-necks, scoop necks, and well-shaped strapless bodices can elongate the torso and frame the face beautifully. We style brides from sizes 0 to 32, so we focus less on rules and more on how each gown balances your proportions.
Sleeves can be a great choice when they’re designed for comfort, movement, and proportion. Soft tulle sleeves, illusion sleeves, lace sleeves, and off-the-shoulder looks can all work beautifully, but the key is making sure the armhole and upper arm fit smoothly without pulling. We also look at how the sleeve works with the neckline so the gown still feels open and balanced through the shoulders and bust. If sleeves are high on your wish list, tell us before your appointment so we can guide you toward the best options in our selection.
We recommend booking an appointment so we can give you focused help and pull styles that match your shape, comfort level, and vision. At Bridal Garden, we have a new Plus Size Bridal Gown Showroom and our bridal salon houses over 50 plus size wedding dress samples, although not every gown pictured is in store. Online booking is available for new appointments, and if you want to come back for a return visit, those try-on and Be Back appointments are scheduled by calling us. If you have a specific gown or designer in mind, we’re happy to confirm availability before you come in.
We suggest starting earlier than you think, because special-order bridal gowns generally take time and you’ll also want room for alterations. Our bridal gowns are special order and generally take up to six months for delivery, so waiting too long can limit your options or create unnecessary stress. Shopping early gives you more freedom to choose the silhouette, fabric, and details you really want instead of settling for what can arrive fastest. If your wedding date is close, reach out to us anyway and we can talk through what may be possible.
